The Gionee Elife E6 is the latest release of the Elife series and of course, comes with improved specifications as well. The Gionee Elife E6 comes with a 5-inch full HD display powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core chipset and 2GB RAM which makes multitasking a breeze on the device. However, we can further exploit the device by installing custom ROMs as well as over-clocking its processing power. To do so, we will first have to get root-access on the device itself. In this tutorial, we will guide you on how to root the Gionee Elife E6 in order to have all those privileges.
Before we begin, I would like to warn you that during the process of rooting, there is a risk of bricking your own device. So if you still want to proceed, you’ll be doing it at your own risk and we will hold no responsible for any form of damage on your device. Its a good practice for you to backup your device to an external source apart from your own SD Card.
Follow the steps below on how to root the Gionee Elife E6
- Download the Framaroot apk and place it on your desktop.
- Connect the Gionee Elife E6 to your PC.
- Copy the Framaroot apk ( which you have downloaded ) over to your device’s SD card.
- Make sure you have already checked the Unknown Sources option from your device’s security settings.
- On your device, open the file explorer app ( either Astro File Manager / ES File Explorer ) and install the Framaroot apk.
- Open the Framaroot app on your Gionee Elife E6.
Select Install Superuser from the Select an action to execute after root section.- From the Select an exploit section, select either Boromir or Faramir.
Once done, a pop-up like the one above should appear on the screen.- Congratulation! You’ve just rooted the Gionee Elife E6 .
- Go to your app drawer and you should be able to see a Superuser app.
